Default Suggestion ( or Feature Request ) about Backup Balancing

I'm using daily, weekly and monthly backup..
But I have 500 accounts in one server and some accounts had a lot of files and backup taking a lot of time.. Backup is starting ad 01:00 AM and taking 1 day..

1 ) I don't want to run backups in daytime ( eg between 08:00 - 19:00 ). Backup would stop in this period.

2 ) I have 500 accounts and I want to split these accounts to weekdays.. Some examples :

    Example plan 1 :
Monday - first group ( 1/3 of total accounts )
Tuesday - second group ( 1/3 of total accounts )
Wednesday - third group ( 1/3 of total accounts )
Thursday - first group ( 1/3 of total accounts )
Friday - second group ( 1/3 of total accounts )
Saturday - third group ( 1/3 of total accounts )
Sunday - Weekly and Monthly copy works

    Example plan 2 :
Monday - first group ( 1/6 of total accounts )
Tuesday - second group ( 1/6 of total accounts )
Wednesday - third group ( 1/6 of total accounts )
Thursday - fourth group ( 1/6 of total accounts )
Friday - fifth group ( 1/6 of total accounts )
Saturday - sixth group ( 1/6 of total accounts )
Sunday - Weekly and Monthly copy works

This method reduces a lot of cpu load and backup time...

    This would be great...

You can limit change the load threshold in the settings in WHM Tweak Settings and also put a cron to kill the process if it doesn't finish at a certain time. You can also modify the script and add a statement to only do usernames that start with certain letters on each day.

but it's not an effective way. beacause system kills backup process at 8:00 AM and last domains in backup order will not backed up....

Out of curiosity are you using compressed or non-compresed? Non-compressed backups should not be taking THAT long.

If they are non-compressed are you just running it via a slow nfs/samba mount?

WHM does have an option to backup only certain accounts, you might be able to use that to come up with some sort of solution.
