troubles with filemanager and publish_html

Hi Everyone,

I'm an ojt student, and I was trying to publish my drupal 6 site to a cpanel oriented host, with an existing site made by a former worker(i think)

The thing is, I moved the older site to a backup folder outside of the public html so that I could upload my site without harming the old one, unfortunately, after checking the site online, it is the old one that appears instead of mine

I find this strange, since the general information says that the www directory is publish_html.

I also found out that the former guy did some sub domains for the old site. And I heard that he also used drupal, but I think it's version 4 or 3 back then?

how do I allow my site to appear?

If you've uploaded your new site outside public_html for now, you'll need to remove the older site(s) first or move them to a directory, and then move the new site into public_html so that it can be accessed.

These are not cPanel issues though. You really should speak to your host who can assist you with this.

I did actually moved the older site outside the directory and put the new ones inside, unfortunately, nothing happened. The display the same as if it kept reading the old file.

Your host should take a peek at your account, it'll make sense to him.

Not the server, the files/databases on your account and how you've got them setup. You said another guy set some things up you're not sure of. Your host can explain this sort of thing to you by looking at your account.

If you're not sure what something is, don't delete it. Create a folder outside your public_html then move any files there you don't want the world to see.

Then see what breaks on the site you want to work.

I did that too, but it didn't display the new ones.

Having no choice, I delete the old ones, but I did backup them. But still, the one appearing in the web site is still the old site.
