    Wink Weekly Backups

    Ill get straight to the point, Im not extremely skilled so and would like some advice or links, I have looked as I always do but things I searched did not fit what I wanted.

    Here goes..

    I wish to generate WEEKLY backups for clients - Now Imagen the system has done one backup already and its located in there clients root / Backups/ Now another week has passed and the system is going to make a new one - How can I do it so it will only keep TWO rar backups - Then delite the oldest.

    Basicly in short terms, I want the system to only keep TWO of the most recent and any generated after it will dump the most oldest.

    Thanks in advance, If this is a script what will need to be made/customized then let me know and Ill chuck a few donation tiokens in

    WHM -> configure backups

    Enable both daily and weekly.

    Now within cPanel click "backups" and the users can download their files from there. That should do exactly what you are asking.

    Hmm...well I am saying do NOT place it in their FTP. Instead just keep the backup within /backup/cpbackup and then just don't mount /backup with quotas to avoid any space issues.

    That way they can still get their backups, you can keep daily, weekly, and monthly, and everybody is happy.

    From all that I can tell this is exactly what you want.

    Yeah I know this but some users can be kinda thick and wonder why there space allocated is filling up

    So is there a script what can REMOVE the oldest when one is generated.

    here is a example:

    ( week 1 ) 07-06-2010 - Backup created - User backup placed in clients FTP.

    ( week 2 ) 14-06-2010 - Backup Created - User Backup Placed in clients FTP

    ( Script ) Delites users backup ( Week 1 ) Keeps just the most RECENT backup and removes the old when new one is complete.

    ect ect ect...

    OK one thing , chose incremental backup method . And write a small cron script to tar your backup folder .
