On an old server I had public_html, now I have both that and homedir after moving the account to a new server.
homedir seems to replicate all the public_html files.
What's the deal here?

Suppose your username is : don
Your home will be(in normal case) : /home/don/
Your public access directory will be: /home/don/public_html/

Again,
What is /home/don/homedir
It has all the files that public_html has.
you can delete the homedir
when your host did a backup and restore...it leaves a mess
you can safly delete that directory
Forget homedir. All your files should be in public_html directory
