ziro size downloaded mysql backup file

Hi,

When I go to backup section of cpanel and click on a 100 mb db to download it's backup, the downloaded file is empty.

to get a backup from my databases, What should I do?

It sounds like you are attempting to back up a database while logged in as a reseller to someone else's cPanel account.

If this is the case, you have two options:

1. Login as the cPanel user directly then do the database backup

2. Create a .my.cnf file in that user's home directory with the username and password configured in that file. An internet search for .my.cnf will assist you with how to do this.

If you were logged in as the cPanel user and not as a reseller, please let me know.

No, I login to cPanel, with my user name and pass word not with root or reseller password.

Hmm, that's definitely something that needs looked at. I recommend you contact your hosting provider for assistance.

If you have root access, try creating a backup from ssh to see if it works for testing purposes: /scripts/pkgacct username

This is apparently a bug in the Backup Wizard vs Backup. If you use the Backup Wizard, the SQL dumps are empty. If you use Backup, they are fine...

I've tested this with about 3 different sites on 3 different cPanel servers.

Just an FYI to those here and to the cPanel team that this needs to be corrected.
