11.32.2 build 24 Frustration

My server updated from 11.30 to 11.32.2 build 24 during the night. I really like the auto-date feature and it's worked flawlessly over the years. I stay with the stable updates.

This update was harsh, my phone was ringing off the hook starting at an early hour today. It took me a while to figure out what was happening, and it turns out re-applying the update with the force option worked to fix things.

What is the best way to get notified BEFORE a major update is done? Had I known the big one was coming, I would have been a little better prepared with staff on this side and/or changing my auto-update preferences to prevent this until later.

I don't actively come to the website looking for this info, is there a way to get this info pushed beforehand?
