Default Accidental Wrong chown.. No SSH access, but WHM is accessible

    Hello,
I accidentally chown my /home/user/public_html and since then I am getting 500 Internal Server Error for my domain.

Also, I can't login using SSH. Though, I can access the WHM.

Ping and Tracert is working fine also.

How to fix that? Is there any way to revert back the old and default chown without SSH?

    Why can't you use ssh?

I don't know of a way to chown directories through WHM or cPanel - you'd need SSH access as a root (or sudo privileged) user to do this. If you chown'd it in the first place I assume at one point you had SSH access - is not being able to SSH to the server part of the problem?

What did you chown it to. Did you chown it to root via SSH before you lost access to SSH. You can restart SSH from "WHM > Restart Services > SSH Server (OpenSSH)" and then try to log in via SSH to correct ownership.

1 solution works for all problems. Trying harder!
