Question Accidentally parked a domain on top of a parked domain: cannot undo

In the process of the parking a couple of dozen domains for a single account, I accidentally parked a domain on top of another parked domain.

This seems to have caused some problems:
    • I cannot view the newly parked domain in "list parked domains"
    • I cannot remove the DNS zone for this domain
    • I cannot view the parked domain in the account Cpanel "parked domains"

How can I undo this and re-park the domain on top of the main account domain name?

Also, to prevent issues like this in the future, are there any tools (free is not mandatory) to handle bulk domain administration, especially parking?

I realize the API allows me to write this myself, but I don't want to re-invent the wheel.

Given the reported details I believe the issue should be escalated via a support request; if a bug is suspected please note that the best avenue to report it is via our ticket system, such as by using the link in the top-right corner of the forums, labeled Bugs. When available, please send me your ticket ID number (e.g., via a PM) so I may follow-up internally. Thank you in advance.

Thanks for the reply. I just submitted a ticket for this and have included the details by PM.

As noted in the ticket as well: if there is ANY "dirty hack" solution to this for the short term, I'd be very much interested. This problem is currently interfering with an important customer setup.

Thank you for the ticket submission. Until the investigation of the issue is completed, I suggest using cPanel, and not WHM, to setup new parked domains (and new add-on domains); this will avoid the difficulty that I believe is being experienced. Using cPanel it is possible to setup an add-on domain and also specify the desired Document Root path that, if desired, may match a different domain, such as a parked domain (in public_html); this will have the same effect as parking a domain on another parked domain, but it should not cause any difficulty.

If an immediately remedy is needed please ensure to mention this via the ticket; please note that it will require root access so that we may directly inspect the affected system and applicable configuration entries to determine the precise correction that may be necessary.
