Default Account Automation & Creating Accounts Without Domain

I just upgraded my hosting package from my host to a Reseller account. I'm a bit new to the Reseller business, so bare with me and my stupid questions. :P

First of all, is there normally a way in WHM that you can create accounts without them having their own domain? Basically what I want to do is just do my own small thing. I'm not trying to become a small business, as my site scopes in other topics. Offering free/paid hosting solutions to customers is just another plus of my community.

In other words, I want to be able to host someone whether they have a domain or not. If they don't have a domain, I would obviously have to give them a directory under my account or a subdomain.

Problem with this is, how do they manage their accounts? How can I give them access to their own cPanel?

Also, one final thing: Account automation. Can someone give me a recap on how people usually automate the hosting signups? Do you need some kind of 3rd party script installed? Does anyone highly recommend a specific script?

    Thanks guys.

    Kind Regards,
    Joe

    Joe,

    Welcome to the web-hosting world!

    - First, on your question about a domain, you CAN actually enter a subdomain of yours instead of a full domain. So instead of entering "customersdomain.com" you can put in "customer.mydomain.com" for example and it will treat that subdomain account like a full account while on a subdomain

    - Second, setting up accounts can be automated either with a custom script you make or a simple little script named "IBILL." You should be able to find it via google searching but it has nothing to do with the credit card processor for "adult sites" also named "IBILL."

    Cheers and good luck!
