    Default Account Creation

    Hi,
Just recently, when I create a new account through WHM, when I try to login to the account through cPanel, it always returns a "Login Attempt Failed!" error.

I'm 100% sure I'm using the correct username/password, and the case is all correct too. I'm able to login to the account using the root password though. Also when I try to do a reset/change pass for the account it says it's reset, or changed, but it still doesn't let me login.

This only recently started, and all of my older accounts work fine. I've also tried updating WHM/cPanel to the latest version, but still produces the same error. What could be the problem and a fix for it?

    All/any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you very much,
    David

I have this problem as well. Does anyone have a clue what could be going on? I'm running version 10.8.0-C19.

Can you login via shell or ftp with the same login?

How did you change the password. If through WHM there can be issues with it not accepting spaces.

did you try changing the password using the script

    /scripts/chpass

    followed by

    /scripts/ftpupdate

Looks like these issues might be related to another issue regarding a possible bug with resetting passwords through cPanel/WHM:
