Default Add cPanel User to existing account?

This was not possible when I asked quite a while ago. Since I noticed WHM / cpanel got some great updates, thought I would check in again.

Is it possible to add a new user to an existing account so that this user can also SFTP into the server without using the original owner's credentials? We are trying to disbale FTP completely but not sure how to add this new user so they have SFTP access as well. Would we have to do this through SSH or is it now possible inside WHM / cPanel?

At this time, having 2 SFTP (SSH File Transfer Protocol) users for 1 cPanel/WHM account is not natively supported.

    Hey David,

Yes, it's not supported but would there be any issues if we SSH'ed in, created a new user so that another person could SFTP in to the server? Do you see anything causing problems in the long run with this?

Other than the typical issues of ensuring proper file and directory permissions and ownership, the only long-term issues I readily expect, offhand, is that any functionality designed to exempt specific users from certain things (e.g. exemptions from the disable compiler functionality) will only work with actual cPanel/WHM users, not those you create outside the cPanel/WHM environment.
