Add on domain/sub domain question

hi,

I have a primary domain (something-beautiful.org) that is the default for cPanel and I have added another (sllewellyn.com) via the add on domain. This has caused a sub domain sllewellyn.something-beautiful.org to be automaticly created.

I'm currently having problems with my setup that involves redirecting all sllewellyn.com emails to another completely different address. Some emails get through but others jsut return mailer demons.

What ACTUALLY happens when you add an add on domain? Does it all get forwarded to the subdomain that it automaticly creates? The sub domain and main domain appear to exist as two separate things. Besides the add on domain part is there any other configuration that needs to be done? Like setting up re-directs?

Helping me to understand this should help me solve the problem.
