I had a site running Xoops, and the database for the web site was on another server. The other server is also a Cpanel server with the same version of software.
I needed to add some IP's to the first box. I used WHM and added some IP's
Ever since then, a website on that box was unable to talk to the MySQL database on the other box. All of the requests from the first box had the new IP. I couldn't talk until I added the new IP to the MySQL access portion of the remote server.
The web site on the first box was not changed in any way, IP or otherwise.
Why did this happen? Adding another alias IP to a NIC should make all the packets coming from it appear from those new IP's. That's gonna screw up the DNS updates too since the master server IP won't be right either.
Anyone got any ideas?
Thanks,
Chuck
