Default Adding mysql db user to db works in X, not elsewhere

This is a weird issue I can replicate on one server I have -- haven't tried it on others yet.

When I use X3 and RVSkin (that I've tried so far), I can create a database and a db user fine. However, when I add the user to the db, I get a successful message that it completes, however, when I "go back" or reload the mysql page, there are no users assigned in to that db showing up in the table.

I've tried restoring a dump at this point and confirmed that the users are indeed not properly permissioned to access that db.

However, when I switch the same account over to X skin, it works as planned.

I figured I'd post here first since X3 is also impacted though RVSkin obviously has it's own support channel.

Anyone else seen this yet? Any known fixes?

    Thanks,
    Jason

What is the full version of your cPanel install?

Is there anything relevant in /usr/local/cpanel/logs/error_log?

We confirmed there's nothing in the logs related to this user or mysql during the window we were troubleshooting.

    WHM 11.2.0 cPanel 11.10.0-S16448

    Thanks Kenneth

This answer sounds really vague and generic, but, your build of Stable is a bit old. The latest Stable is 16999. We recommend using the latest version of the particular cPanel branch installed to ensure all known fixes for the branch are in place.

Fair enough. I'll give that a shot and post the results.

    Thanks

I'm now running WHM 11.2.0 cPanel 11.11.0-S16999 and am still facing this issue.

Which version of MySQL and what is your Operating System?

This function worked for me using the latest Release (which is the same as Stable at this point in time) and X. Is anything output in /usr/local/cpanel/logs/error_log when you attempt this procedure?

Note: It's working fine in X. It doesn't work in X3 or RVSkin. Those are the only three I've tried thus far.

There was no related output last time we checked but I can try it again tonight and report back.

My apologies, I was reading your problem in reverse. I'll look at this again tomorrow when I'm back in the office
