Default Additional FTP account don't work

I created additional FTP accounts but no one works. Whe clients tried to access with new created FTP accounts every time they get login failure. I have 6.2.0 latest stable

We tried everything, putting username in full username@domain.com , without that. We tried for host IP of the server but nothing worked. I opened Ticket about that but no respond since 2-3 days.

    Any solution to this ?

We're having problems even with the primary user account id. We're on 6.2/55. Getting 'incorrect password' and we've even reset it so we know it is correct.

No effect. Every user on the server cannot FTP into it.

It does appear to be some sort of a bug. cPanel probably hasn't responded because they are currently going over my server to see if they can find the cause and fix it. I expect they'll post in the next day or so once they've found the problem and fixed it.

    Hello,

I have a strange problems here with some of the account on the server.

The user may use their main account to login to the Cpanel but when trying to login via FTP, it wont allow them to login.

    Does anyone have this before?

    Thanks

    Andy

ok did a little more digging and it seems some recent versions of apache don't play nice with FTP.

Use the main server IP for the hostname to login to ftp accounts till Apache gets it fixed.

I tried everything and that what you are saying but nothing work. CPanel did not answer me now since 10 days or so and I don't see that they are working on solution as there is no newer versions for solving this problem

    Hello,

I found the solution at my end.

The error is because user file for proftpd wasnt quite right. All the accounts listed has their shell for FTP listed as /bin/false and that was causing a problem. I changed all the accounts to /bin/bash and they now work.

    Hope this might help out.

Try to switch from ProFTP to PureFTP and vice versa in the WHM definitely it will work fine.

    You rock man (Y)

    - log in via main account password in to FTP
    - delete the folder what was created by the cpanel
    [ ftp account manager ]
    - create a new folder [ same name ]
    - create a new user via CP [ftp account manager]
    - switch from ProFtp to PureFtp via WHM - FTP Tweak settings
    - log in via the new Password and username - log out
    - switch back to proFTP
    - restart FTP
    - login via the new password

Setup by working with totalcommander [ take a look - nice tool ] totalcommander

    hostname: domain.tld
    login: user@domain.tld
    password: hidden
    directory: public_html/userfolder

    server :
    WHM 9.1.0 cPanel 9.1.0-R85
    RedHat 9 - WHM X v2.1.2

    hope this help
