    Default Addon Domains not being added

    Hi,

    I've got a (little?) problem with addon Domains. Everytime I try to add cno Domains it says this:

    ===========
    Addon Domain Addition

    ndc: connect failed: connection refused Domain already exists, it was not added.
    Cannot determine nameserver ip for xyz.com. Please make sure that it is registered with a valid domain name register.

    xyz.com has been setup. It can be accessed via the subdomain xyz.maindomain.com . Ftp access has been granted with the username care and the password *** .
    ===========

    The part with the mailforwarding etc. is not displayed, the httpd.conf entry is added without the "ServerAlias www.xyz.com xyz.com" and The Domain is not displayed anywhere else.

    When I try it a few (hundred?) times again sometimes it works...
    But I don't know why! The Domain is registered, the DNS entry exists since a few weeks and points to this server...

    What am I doing wrong?
    The message "ndc: connect failed: connection refused" is diplayed everytime, cause we are not running a DNS Server on that machine...

    And "Domain already exists, it was not added." is displayed cause this was the 30th try or so and as I said the httpd.conf entry allready existed...

    would be nice to get a feedback from someone

    MfG

    First off:

    To correct your "ndc: connect failed" error - I would edit /etc/named.conf and change the first line so that:

    key "rndc-key" {

    reads like this :

    key "rndckey" {

    Then restart BIND

    Secondly for the domain already exists message probably check the following:

    1. Check the zone files
    2. Chech to see if the domain is still in /etc/localdomains
    3. Check to see if there is an entry in /valiases/
    4. Check no domain entry still in httpd.conf

    Then try again.

    Anybody else have any input to this as Ive probably neglected to add something else here.

    i get the similar problem commonly i have 3 servers the 2 are linked to the master. on the master and 1 child i see a line in the named.conf

    key "rndckey" {
    algorithm hmac-md5;
    secret "big long key";
    };

    but in the 2nd child i dont have this similar line.
