Default after the kernel upgrade... 99% http

    Hi,
after the upgrade of the kernel on a red hat 8 (Psyche) I see that httpd take 99.9 cpu, 2 second and it goes to 0, mysqld go to 99 and after 2 second goes to 0, exim too.

The kernel is this now :

    Linux hostname.myserver.com 2.4.20-24.9 #1 Mon Dec 1 12:08:29 EST 2003 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

It seems a problem that happen with an old kernel.
    Has anyone this problem ?

Sopos, sorry to say it, but I would recommend you to change the hostname that is in your post.

You never know who visits this forum.

Ontopic, is this happening all the time?

What kernel are you running that the problem does not occur on?

That kernel is not secure: https://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2003-392.html .

I believe the kernel is buggy. I tried upgrading kernel twice and had problems both times. Other people have posted problems after kernel upgrade in EV1 forums.

Other people have had no problems...

i386 is optimised for old processors - pre Pentium I believe (286,386).

    Ok, I try.
I hope that the problem was the i386 version.

Is there any solution? I started getting this yesterday after a kernel upgrade. Thanks.
