    Default Again unroutable domain

Decided to check that option in Tweeks again, to see if anything has changed in the past 3weeks of updates to fix this problem. Prevent the user 'nobody' from sending out mail to remote addresses (php and cgi scripts generally run as nobody if you are not using phpsuexec and suexec respectively.)

Its been 3 weeks since the last time i tried to check this option. I guess nothing has been fixed as far as this is concerned. Checking the option gives me the following, still!

As the problem appears to be that your sending mail out as the nobody user despite running the aforementioned phpsuexec patch, i fail to see how checking that box would help? Unless you are stating that somehow mail starts being sent out as nobody when you check it

If it is the first problem then is the same with both php scripts and perl scripts? Is it restricted to a few users? Is the php script filename showing up in suexec_log?

If i check the option mail gets sent from php scripts as username@nobody which is fine however it results in unroutable domain errors. If the option is unchecked message go out as nobody. Susexec_log shows nothing. There are no records in that file.

Hmm i think that it could be a possible indication that the phpsuexec patch didn't get installed properly as every other time when a php script is run on a machine running phpsuexec i seen a entry getting added to the suexec_log log giving the filename/uid/gid

Try lynx -head -dump http://localhost/ does something like PHP-CGI/0.1b appear in the output in the Server: line ?

This is a problem on every one of our boxes. Not sure what the mysterious install would be, i mean, you just select option 6 and the options you want and away it goes. On this box i see entries like

    [2003-05-26 23:10:49]: info: (target/actual) uid: (huntmani/huntmani) gid: (huntmani/huntmani) cmd: fpexe
    [2003-05-26 23:10:50]: info: (target/actual) uid: (huntmani/huntmani) gid: (huntmani/huntmani) cmd: fpexe

in suexec_log however on the other box there are no records in this file.
