Default Analog Stats - fills up memory and overloads

Lately it seems that whenever logs start running for one particular username on one server, it often overloads and kills it.

While running '/scripts/runweblogs vibehost' I see the following in 'top':

    Code:
PID USER PRI NI SIZE RSS SHARE STAT %CPU %MEM TIME COMMAND
    17424 vibehost 20 19 709M 668M 640 R N 27.1 66.4 1:19 analog
The logfile in domlogs is 1MB, the server has 1GB memory but when running it swap file just grows and grows to 1GB until load starts running up and eventually requires me to force a reboot. Eventually if it does finish it clears the swap file to normal size.

Anyone have any idea what's wrong?

This may be the reason my server has been loaded so high lately. I run top and see that analog is running, consuming 55% memory constantly on a 1.1GB file.

Is this behind all of the cpanel load issues lately, or is it just me?

I just turned it off, it's not very useful anyway since might as well run AWstats.

I just turned it off and...BINGO. Average loads went from 2-15 down to a nice 0.08. I am sooo happy right now.

Now, I just need to find out what happened in the past few weeks that made Analog get all hungry. Maybe a CPanel 'improvement'?

How do you turn it off in WHM? and one more thing if someone could point me out how can I start AWSTAT?

Tweak Settings, the second link from the top. Also, I recommend deleting logs after stats run, none of our clients need access_log anyway (it's on the same page).

Thanks started the awstat....but now when I go to cpanel and try to look at the awstat I get the following errors. I wonder if I will have have to wait for 48 hours or something?

    Code:
Error: Couldn't open config file "awstats.pakistanimedia.com.conf" nor "awstats.conf" after searching in
    path ".,/home/pmadmin/tmp/awstats/,/etc/opt/awstats,/etc/
awstats,/etc,/usr/local/etc/awstats": No such file or directory

    - Did you use the correct URL ?
    Example: http://localhost/awstats/awstats.pl?config=mysite
    Example: http://127.0.0.1/cgi-bin/awstats.pl?config=mysite
    - Did you create your config file 'awstats.pakistanimedia.com.conf' ?
If not, you can run "./../../tools/configure.pl"

See AWStats documentation in 'docs' directory for informations on how to setup awstats.
    Any sugestions? Thanks in advance.

It'll be up to 24 hours before the logs will run, if you'd like to force them to run, you can do /scripts/runlogsnow
