    Default Anonymous FTP access

I found one intersting think while testing anonymous FTP access.

Then new account created, it modify httpd.conf, add <VirtualHost *.*.*.*> directive. But I don't see any changes in proftpd.conf file!

Of course, cPanel create account 'anonymous@hostname.domainname' with the emply password. But it isn't 'clearly' FTP anonymous access. For example, if in my FTP client (GlobalScape) I check the button 'anonymous', I can't receive access to the server.

Eventhough it is anonymous account, that is anonymous account for your domain, which means, you have to use the username as anonymouse@yourdomain.com

    hope this helps.

If the domain has its own IP, I believe you can use regular anyonmous access, where the username is just anonymous.

yea.. with dedicated IP, you can have just anonymous login. For sites with dedicated IP, there is one virtualhost entry in proftpd.conf and this includes settings for anonymous also.
