Anonymous FTP do not work

Hello.

Can anybody explain me how anonymous FTP on CPanel works?
I try to login with both anonymous and ftp user and get the same answer:

331 Anonymous login ok, send your complete email address as your password.
Password:
530-Unable to set anonymous privileges.
530 Login incorrect.
Login failed.

Such situation with all domains on my server. Does anonymous FTP require dedicated IP address for the domain? Or maybe I have misconfiguration in the proftpd.conf?

Please help me. I wll be very appreciate for you help.

For true anonymous ftp, yes, they'll need a dedicated IP address for their domain.

Hello,

There is a work around to this. If you use anonymous@therdoamin.com as the username and a valid email address as the password, this will log them on anonymously. We use a shared ip address and this works fine for those not wanting to use a dedicated ip address with their domain.

You must use anonymous@domain.com where domain.com is the domain for the anonymous FTP access.
