Another app is currently holding the yum lock; waiting for it to exit...

I ran /scripts/upcp --force in ssh and I tried to kill the yum process that says that is locked. 7373 is the process but it says
Another app is currently holding the yum lock; waiting for it to exit... after i run kill 7373 in another putty client. It keeps showing that message over and over again. What do I do to force the update if it keeps doing this? I ran the updates in whm but the updates stall? Thanks to you if you have the solution to this problem.

Are you sure you killed all yum processes?

Anyway, try the following:

pgrep yum | xargs kill -9
yum clean all
yum update
/scripts/upcp --force

I guess I didn't kill all of the yum processes. I opened a ticket on cpanel's ticket system and they solved the problem. Thanks for your help though.
