Alrigth, after recompiling exim and clamconnector it was working.

So uninstall the exim rpm and disable clamconnector, then re-enable clamconnector and it works again.

sometimes you have to enable the pro expension again on pro.cpanel.net .

    Good luck!

I had this problem and, after trying all of the other suggestions in this thread, I found that it was because POP connections weren't being logged to /var/log/maillog (it was empty). After restarting syslogd ( /scripts/restartsrv_syslogd ), the maillog started filling up and POP before SMTP started working again.

    Hope this helps someone

It would appear that syslogd is stopping randomly (not very often, but still ). I've set a cron job to restart it every night, but I'd prefer to fix the problem. Is anyone else having this issue?

I have the same problem on the first account I installed on a new server. However the problem exists only for the default address installed when you set up the account. (username@domainname.com). Adding any other email address , they work.

I am seeing this on at least four servers where syslog is failing and requires retart. Cannot find any common thread and there is nothing in the logs indicating why there is a failure.

    Very frustrating.

Do you have any idea how to check syslogd is running, and if not - restart it, because falling of syslogd starts to be a common problem on our servers...

I just set up a cron to restart it every hour for now until we figure out what the problem is.

Have you tried to enable monitoring syslogd from WHM >> Service Configuration >> Service Manager. chkservd will start it automatically if it is down for more than 30 sec.

Yes. The process does not completely die, it is still listed in the process list, its just not doing anything, so cPanel doesn't register it.
