Default Anyone know how to transfer a 9 gig tar file.

I tried http but it's too big for apache to allow to download.

I tried ftp but it said the file is too big

I tried scp and the eta was about a month.

What's a fast method to move a huge file to another server. I have seen my server push 50 megs so it has the ability to do this quick with the right method.

BTW I have read every thread and nothing gives a solution for a file this big.

    Thanks, Chaz

    Yep that gzipped

    I can't divide it either..

I remember the cracker dos attack software that ran in the temp directory called .tempbak that was posted here.

It was a c-mod or something that pushes huge bandwidth fast.

I was hoping something like that could blast it over. Or even a better a really fast unlimited file size moving ftp program that I can install.

Why can't you split the file? Look into the split command. You could split the compressed file into 9 1GB files then join them back together on the other side (with the cat command). This works even with 1 big file.

If that isn't a possiblity for whatever reason, look into rsync.

Is rsync already installed by cpanel?
