Default Anything MySQL kill the server

    Hello,

I'm having a problem when a mysql on my server. When ever I do anything that involves MySQL, my box just dies the load goes through the roof, but there is very little CPU usage. Doing a simple query will kill the box, and I have no idea why this just stared when I moved my server, Everything is just about the same. Only difference is the old server used mysql 4.1 this one uses 5. Could that be it?

Also another very odd problem with it, is when I do a backup of the database over phpmyadmin it goes just fine till I hit 128mb downloaded, then the server load again will go through the roof, I have it go as high as 500 and I have to reboot the server to get it too come back up.

Any one know what the problem is here?

    Thanks
