Default Apache failed and wont restart

The apache on my server seems to have fialed and just will not restart at all. This as caused all my sites to be down and I dont know how I can fix it. When I log into the server it gives me this message.

Unable to obtain apache version information. Your apache server at 65.75.163.160 may be down, or unreachable.

I restared it manually to see if it helped but it didnt its still the exact same. Can anyone help me please, im clueless with this sort of stuff

And I keep getting emails every few minutes saying; apache failed @ Sun Apr 10 17:29:16 2005. A restart was attempted automagicly.

You need to login to the root shell using SSH and then type (on a Linux server):

    /etc/init.d/httpd start

Watch out for errors. You should then tail the error log:

    tail -30 /etc/httpd/logs/error_log

Either or both should give you an error message if apache fails to start.

SSH to your server and look into Apache and other error log files:
    /usr/local/apache/logs/error.log
    /var/log/messages

PM me if you need any help.
