Apache failure... Please help !

Hello,

I have noticed since a couple of weeks when creating or deleting an account from WHM or any addon domains created, apache won't restart. I have to do it manually. I also found that when I'm moving an IP to another, apache won't restart too. It causing some downtime and it would be very appreciated if someone here have any idea about that. Does it could be the newest version of Cpanel causing that because it was not doing that before ? I have do a cleanup of apache config file and error logs file but always getting the same problem. Thank in advance !

Could be a problem with the httpd.conf file. In shell do:
/usr/sbin/httpd configtest
and see if it says anything.

Thank for your help and I have done a lot of time a clean up of apache syntax. For now, I got a lot of error lines showing me that:

Warning: DocumentRoot [/home/speedy/public_html/forum] does not exist
Warning: DocumentRoot [/home/clanetd/public_html/forums] does not exist
Syntax OK

I know how to fix that but I believe it will not fix the issue.

Any ideas ?

I have done the clean up of apache file and tried creating an account from WHM and it said that apache was restarted but apache failed again. We have to do it manually

I'm not sure what would cause that. The next thing I would try is to do a cpanel update. Since it restarts fine manually, but not after account creation, it could be something wrong with the cpanel setup.

Thank for your fast respond. Yes, I think it could be caused by Cpanel setting but by upgrading the Cpanel version, how it could change the setting ? What type of setting are you talking about ? Tweaking ? httpd.conf file ? I'm not sure I'm following you.

I'm just thinking it could be a bug in the version you have for your server setup. Cpanel does have little bugs now and then and they never have an effect on all server setups, so maybe the version you are on and your server just don't match.

A cpanel upgrade may not help, but it's the only other thing I can think of.

Hum... I know this thing happened since we did some Cpanel upgrades. It could be that because we did a lot of tweaking and fixed apache settings and it won't restart auto from WHM but it can be restarted manually. It seem that is WHM causing that. What you would suggest then excepted Cpanel upgrade ?
