    Default Apache wont restart !! help please

    Hi, currenly I cant restart apache and it says contact your sysadmin and this is what i think the problem is, so if anyone thinks they can help fix this please pm me as I dont want to mess with big config files and mess things up.

    root@server [~]# httpd configtest

    Looks like you have httpd.conf entries for accounts that no longer exist. I'd dig up the httpd.conf in a text editor and comment out those entries, restart and u should be fine. If the accounts indeed were removed it should be safe to delete those entries from httpd.conf. I'd make a backup before you edit the file.

    well, I have never needed to edit a config file befor and there for dont know how and dont want to screw up, so is there anyone that could help ??? I managed to get it down to this though,

    root@server [~]# httpd configtest
    Syntax error on line 7605 of /usr/local/apache/conf/httpd.conf:
    ServerAlias only used in <VirtualHost>

    That one sounds like there's a stray SeverAlias line on line 7605. One that's not between 2 VirtualHost tags.
