Default Assigning IPs for each domain... how?

I have a client on my new cPanel server. They have about 10 domains and wish to have a dedicated IP for each domain. After realizing that it could not be done within cPanel, I followed the directions that I found here. It worked and cPanel shows them are being allocated correctly, but when I ping the domains, the IP address returned is still the shared IP for all 10 of the domains. What can I do here? Thanks.

Assigning diff dedicated IPs can be done from WHM and not cPanel.

Alright, I am not finding it. Everytime I go to change a site's IP address, WHM wants to change the IP for EVERY domain that the client has. What am I doing wrong? I'm fairly new to WHM/cPanel, so a step by step would be helpful. Thanks.

They're add on domains. Since this thread was started, I have followed the directions here. Then I edited the DNS zone for the domain(s) in question and changed any reference to the old IP to the new IP and it appears to be working now. I can ping each of his add on domains and they return to the new dedicated IPs.
