Backup question

All my Cpanel servers runs a backup at midnight my time.

This poses a problem for one dedicated server customer in South Africa. His peak time is 8AM his time, ZA is +7 of EST where the servers are located.

I can't find where to set what time the backup starts. I would rather not change the server zone time but will if I have to.

Can backup start time be adjusted?

In my understanding, you can adjust the time on the by editing the root cron /scripts/cpbackup to achieve what you want. However, I am open to suggestions if there are other ways.

root@cpanel [/var/spool/cron]# cat root |grep cpbackup
0 1 * * * /scripts/cpbackup

0 19 * * * /scripts/cpbackup

Do I have to restart any services after changing the file to read the changed schedule?

Restarting crond service is a good idea at this moment

There is an optional plug-in for WHM that allows editing the scheduled time of the cron tab entries for cPanel updates ("upcp") and for cPanel backups ("cpbackup"); this is available at the following menu path in WHM:

WHM: Main >> cPanel >> Manage Plugins
* cronconfig: Allows user to edit cPanel cron settings/program run times

After the "cronconfig" plug-in is installed, a browser refresh of WHM will reveal the new feature at the following menu path:
WHM: Main >> Plugins >> Configure cPanel Cron Times

Thank you cPanelDon, it seemed fundamental so I figured there was a "cpanel" way to do this. The other method did work great of course.
