Backups Are Taking Too Long!

For 2 years, up until 4/15/2005, my server backups took about 3-5 hours every night. Starting on 4/15/2005, they now take 12 to 16 hours. There has been no significant changes to the server at all. Only a couple of regular accounts added. Even the small sites just churn on and on, meanwhile CPU is at 8-10% (4cpus). I can handle the load, but can anyone think of why this might be happening? Is anyone else experiencing it?

Whenever I've seen that it's because of cron job clashes, make sure that:

1. /scripts/cpbackup runs well before 04:00 when the daily cron runs

2. /scripts/upcp doesn't run when cpbackup or daily runs
