    Default Bandwidth Exceed Notice

I want to know if thre is a way to set up my cpanel so that I can selectively enable a feature on some of my accounts that I get an email when they have exceeded their monthly bandwidth limit. I could really use this ablility and if you cant do it in the current version of cpanel I would like to see it added to a future release.

Anyone have feedback or comments on this?

If you change the contact email address in WHM it will send emails to there when an account exceeds their bandwidth quota, and when they get upto 80% of their quota also,
    Thanks

That may well work however I am not sure that this is an acceptable alternative. The account holders in most case want the contact email to be theirs. Hopefully the CPanel guys will add this as a feature soon.

I tried this by adding the contact email address in cpanel. The warning is sent to the main account email address and not the contact address. Can someone else test this out. It would also be nice if one of the cpanel developers clarify which email this warning is sent to.

OF COURSE entering heir email address send mail to them, DUH! Thats why entering MY address is not an aceptable alternative to the issue at hand. That was rather obvious from the discusion so far!

Anyone know of a hack to add this feature?

Duh... admins get the emails regardless. Users also get the email at their main email account and not the one on the contact list. Duh

Yes, I have the same problem too. I get all the bandwidth exceeding notice despite my clients have their email addresses set to the CPanel's Contact E-mail. I believe this is a bug because it is supposed to send the notices to both admin and clients.

The funny thing is that I got so sick of the notices that I turned of the feature in the Tweak Settings BUT STILL I keep getting the notices.

Nick, should I wait for Santa to help me on this? Prompt advice appreciated - anyone?

Any update on this? I changed the contact email in cpanel but the bandwidth limits emails are still going to admin@domain.com and not the new address. Is there a contact email file on the server which can be edited manually,?

many customers complain that they got the contact email filled out yet dont get notices. Cpanel suggestion: Fix it so that notices go to the contact email addy first (if not filled out) go to the main user acct, or both if its to hard to configure

Honestly, I don't quite understand this solution. Could you be more specific as to how you would set up the contact email?

My solution was just to write my own script to monitor bandwidth that would email the root when the client has gone over quota. That way I can let them know that they've gone over and bill them, or just let them go if I'm feeling nice for the month.

How about just being able to limit how many times the notices are sent... I think I get them every 6 hours, and towards the end of the month, I have about 10 clients using 80% of their limit... so, it feels that ever 45 minutes I'm getting a notice of some sort.

I'm having the same issue. I've submitted a trouble ticket, so I guess now it's wait and see.
