This is asked many times per month, you could find many threads via search relating to this in great detail.

I really would like to know which OS is used more by Cpanels cutomers? I imagine somebody from Cpanel knows this info.

Yes I have searched and didnt find a satisfactory answer. Also if its asked so often it ought to be in a FAQ/Sticky.

    thx
    Regards, Robert

    Freebsd ??

HA HA HA HA HA !!!!!

Anyone who is thinking about running a Freebsd based Cpanel better have a couple years Freebsd experience, especially with things like kernel tweaking, compiling programs manually and perl module issues.

While I am grateful that Cpanel does support Freebsd at all, its alot more work than with Linux.

BTW - if you have too many support questions with one version it will suddenly disappear from support ( like 4.7 and a couple others did).

Not bad, almost made it to a year myself except my hard drive failed. That was on RH desktop 4 i think, cant remember. Lost a days worth of data.

Now raid 5 minimum for me.

My Windows machines have excelent uptimes. But nobody like windows, except maybe me.

I loaded up CentOS and it looks good and seeing as its derived from RHEL thats probably what I will go with. Also seems to be the most popular one so far in the poll.
