bug? or something else?

I tried to install the newest version of the Advanced Guestbook (v2.4.1) using cpanel on one of my websites. In the CGI Center, clicking on the AG link shows this message....

The addon: [AdvancedGuestBook] is not installed!

I fill in the form on the new addons page for the AG, the install does not work. No new database is set up and the guestbook folder is not set up.

My host thinks it's a cpanel bug, but is it really?

If so, then I guess I'll just have to manually install the guestbook. So much easier through cpanel though.

Another support person said to install AG through Fantastico....but I don't want the Viper guestbook, just the Advanced Guestbook.

Thanks for reading....
Deb

Do you have the Advanced Guestbook checked in the WHM add on scripts?

Advanced Guestbook is working fine on our servers, I have not come accross any bugs with the new cPanel script installer yet.

From the errors it looks like your host just needs to reinstall the script. I would try and get it done through cPanel, then you can also take advantage of easy updates when they become available.

tweakservers....thanks for the suggestion. I wasn't aware there was a spot in WHM for add on scripts. I checked and it only shows phpBB.

celliott....thanks for your reply too. I'll see what my host says about reinstalling the script.
