Can I get some help?

Okay, I'm really gonna sound like a newbie here. I have Cpanel in my hosting plan and am still getting familiar with much of the program. For now, I have one main question.

What exactly is the SQL database and should I be concerned over how many I use? I've asked my server admin several times for information regarding this but he's rather slack about responding so any help I can get on this would be GREATLY appreciated.

For the most part, my server admin has given me free reign on most everything, unlimited space, etc... because he is aware of the lack of service I get... hense he makes up for it in other ways.... but there are some things I MUST know. lol.

Also, does anyone know of any user manuals that would be easy to follow and highly recommendable... ummmm... free is preferred! lol! Thanx a ton!!

As for your database question, usually people are limited to how many databases they have, hence they try to watch how many databases they create.
