Can my cPanel box's dns point to NON-cPanel box

Pretty easy one, I think... one of my client has outgrown his shared hosting account and so I hooked him up with a dirt cheap Debian server with no cpanel. Right now his domain is pointing to my nameservers on my cPanel box. Can I leave it that way, using my box for DNS resolution to his (non-cPanel) box? Or do I *have* do set up Bind on his box with his own nameservers?

chirpy will become famous soon enough
You can definitely do this. One thing you should do if you want to email the person from the cPanel server is to:

1. You can delete their cPanel account, but select the option to not delete their DNS Zone file

2. Edit their DNS Zone through WHM and correct it for their new IP address on the other server

That should be enough. You will have to wait for their modified DNS records to propogate.
