can receive email

can anyone figure this out for me? i'm new to cpanel:

i can send email from my cpanel webmail account, but i can't receive it. for example i sent an email from my cpanel account to my hotmail account. i then tried to reply to it from my hotmail account and i got one of those 'mail service undeliverable' messages or whatever.

Would check your domain at www.dnsreport.com (under the MX section) to confirm that Reverse DNS is setup.

sawbuck, you are truly the man. thanks for the quick reply.

i guess since my real domain isn't setup yet (i just registered yesterday), i can't receive mail yet. when they sent me the email, they said i have a temporary domain name until i get started and i have a temporary webmail address, which is very misleading cause it implies i can get mail.
