Can the remote mysql serv setup in "Remote mySQL Serv" be runnin any version of mysql?
IE. can it have Just linux and mysql 4.1, no cpanel license and not mysql 4.0.22?

I don't see why there would be a restriction on the version of mysql the remote server is running as long as its not running cpanel, which picks what version you use. There should be no issue as long as you understand how the mysql server works.
