    Default can´t install cpanel

    hello,

    i never make a installation of cpanel and this is the first time when i use

    mkdir /home/cpins; cd /home/cpins; wget layer1.cpanel.net/latest;sh latest

    and i get this error

    serv# sh latest

    some body can help me?

    the dedicated server is using freebsd 5.2.1

    Although I don't like this twiwsted way, but see if you have a different version of libm.so.3. If you find something like libm.so.2 you'll have to symlink the libm.so.2 to libm.so.3.
    ln -s libm.so.2 libm.so.3

    See if that helps!

    libm.so.X is a dynamic library and can also be called a “shared library”, which provides object code for an application while it's running. That is, code gets linked into the executable at run time, as opposed to compile time. They're analagous to the .dll's used by Windows. The program responsible for linking code “on the fly” is called /etc/ld.so, and the dynamic libraries themselves usually end with .so with a version number.

    Now, do you have any other version(s) of libm.so?
    Did you symlink the library in the /lib directory?

    Smile i´d change the OS

    i had to changue the OS to Red HAt, but in a few days i´ll get other dedicated server with FREEBSD and i hope can install Cpanel without problems thanks for your help.
