    Default cannot install gd

    Hello -

I know this has come up from time to time, but if anyone can provide some advice I would really appreciate it!

I am trying to install GD to my cpanel/WHM box running Fedora FC2.

Using easyapache, I'm able to select the gd+freetype+mrcypt support option (5) and the install completes just fine. However, when apache restarts I can't access any php pages. Static pages are served up fine but php pages are actually downloaded to the browser.

I assume that this means that php didn't complie properly.

I've also toyed with the same thing from the the apache control panel in WHM, checking off the GD box and seeing similar results. Recompiling apache using option 1 in easyapache brings the server back to a healthy state, but without GD!

I've read over many of the posts here, and I understand much of it - but I can't seem to get through this problem. Can anyone please advise??

    thanks!!!
    Dave

If it is GD that's causing the problem, then the following script usually sorts it out:

    /scripts/cleangd

    Then rebuild apache.

    Default tried that

    Hi Jonathan -

Thanks for your input (as always!)!

I did find that command on this forum and I tried it out. I hope I was using it correctly.

I executed the /scripts/cleangd, then the easyapache. I tried this a few times, using options 5 and then 4 in easyapache. Still no gd!

    thanks, Dave

Any other thoughts on this? I can't get either in, and I at least need gd!
