    Default Cannot open main log file "/var/log/exim_mainlog"

    hi

    when im logging into SSH

    i have this error

    2011-03-25 23:16:45 Cannot open main log file "/var/log/exim_mainlog": Read-only file system: euid=0 egid=0
    2011-03-25 23:16:45 cwd=/root 3 args: send-mail -i recup45@gmail.com
    2011-03-25 23:16:45 Cannot open main log file "/var/log/exim_mainlog": Read-only file system: euid=0 egid=0
    exim: could not open panic log - aborting: see message(s) above

    file system : centos 32bits

    what is the kind of this error !?

    It is an error about the file system itself being in read-only mode, which is pretty serious. You would need to get ahold of your datacenter, NOC or hosting provider to ask them to reboot the system and run a file system check when the system has been taken down. Please ensure you have full account backups off the server before having the system rebooted.

    the support has been run serv on resuce mode and run FSCK

    the server is online now

    he told me this :

    Your server is now online. Please recheck.

    do you think that it's ok ?

    Are you able to create files in /var location now? Are you getting any further file system read only mode alerts anywhere?

    no i d'ont have any alert now

    any SSH command to be sure that everything it ok ?

    Hello,

    You can simply run the command 'touch /var/test.file'.

    If it doesn't reply with a read-only file system error, you should be ok.
