Hi,

What theme are you using?
Thats not very good at all. You need to add an option in the profile to remove the icon completely. If I disable all the cpaddons, the icon still remains.
Ok, this is made worse by the terms used in cpanel.
From my understanding a "cpaddon" is a script, not an icon. In the whm "cpanel menu" there is a link - Install cPAddons. These are pre-installed scripts that the customer can install directly from cpanel.
However, it seems that when you click on feature manager, where you can edit the icons available in cpanel - these are also termed "cpaddons" but they are not cpaddons at all - just icons in the control panel.
All the icons in cpanel can be enabled or disabled by using the feature manager, except the "Site Software" icon - the icon used to install the cpaddon scripts.
We use Fantastico as our script installer so have no use for the "Site Software" icon.

Might want to submit that to http://bugzilla.cpanel.net either as a bug or a feature request.
I shouldnt have to do that. Its such an obvious oversight.
Disable 'Addon Cgi Scripts' within Feature Manager. Oddly, that removes the Site Software icon, rather than the CGI Center.
Grr.
Advanced Guestbook is part of the CGI Center but for some reason it has been moved to cpaddons so it now cannot be installed from the CGI center if we disable cpaddons. Normally that wouldnt be a big deal, we could just remove it form the default profile.
However...
Existing installations are broken because managing your guestbook somehow relies on the cpaddons system too.
You guys need to make sure the advanced guestbook is completely moved out of the cgi center, otherwise this will be a problem for all of us that use third party script installers rather than the cpaddons system.
Off topic, but don't you have problems with guestbook spam? I've got a customer who had it installed and was getting pounded. He removed the guestbook due to that, and the account is still getting pounded with spammers looking for the guestbook that no longer exists, over a month later.
No guestbooks allowed here any longer..
The Advanced Guestbook has a strange history. It looks like it was part of both the CGI Center and the old Addons scripts.
When cPAddons were introduced, it was also merged into there. Managing and uninstalling became a bit 'diificult' - to put it mildly.
We'll re-examine it's handling based upon what you are describing in this message.
