    Smile Can't Access phpMyAdmin...

When trying to reach my phpMyAdmin this is the error message that I receive:

"This feature is not available while logged in with root override. You are logged in with the root, or reseller's password. Please login with this user's account password."

Now, I'm logging in with the one and only main login and password and I've made sure that my Database Username passwords are different from the main cPanel password. The only solution I found (although I don't know if it even pertains to my issue) is to run a Command Line to essentially manually bypass everything.. is this really the only solution? I just read a thread discussing the disgust of how some users come on here and get rude when they don't receive the best support possible. I on the other hand understand and truly appreciate anyone who ever takes a minute to give me a hand. Thank You

    cPanel/Enkompass Access Level

    Root Administrator

    Lightbulb

You created this database from within the cPanel account and you're logged in as that user. Not root, correct?

When you create the DB in cPanel, you then have to add the user to that DB after, its a second step. On that step you'll be given the options of what that user can do with that DB.

You can always access/edit any DB via WHM PHPMyAdmin.

    Default Right..

I understand how to make a database and add a user to it, that's not the problem. I'm not entirely sure how everything was setup as I'm coming in to make updates to a website that was designed by someone else (an offshore company I believe). Anyways, the client had issues with the previous designers and they have no idea what is going on with anything. I can tell that yes, I'm logged in as the root (the main account correct?) account. How would I know for sure? I've never known there to be another way to login, or there has never been any reason to create an additional login for cPanel, but I don't know what these previous designers have done. How would I go about reaching the DB Admin through WHM?

If your logged into WHM as a reseller or root, then list accounts and click to open cpanel from there you will be logged in as the root administrator for that account. i.e. no access to phpmyadmin, fantastico etc...

If you log into cpanel with the username and the root password if you try to go to phpmyadmin same thing as above.

To go through cPanel for phpmyadmin login as root or reseller login with the username and password for that account.

Possible the password for the cPanel account is the same as the reseller/root account? You can reset the password for that cPanel account (Not WHM) to something different than the main password for the reseller or root account.

    As as said above:

That being said, if you are root, in WHM scroll down on the left and find phpmyadmin and you can run it from there as root.

    Clear as mud? :-)

    Good luck!

Yes that is just how it is. Enter through cPanel as the user name and user password and go to phpmyadmin and it works, as root the only way get into phpmyadmin is through WHM. Otherwise logging into users cPanel via root will not let you into phpmyadmin for some very good reasons.

You can not access your user’s phpmyAdmin directly from WHM. You will have to login using user’s username and password of Cpanel to get into phpmyadmin.
