Default Can't access sub FTP account using explorer?

    Hello,

I have a few domains that I recently migrated to cPanel.
I created a 2 ftp accounts on one domain and (example bill@site.com and john@site.com), both accounts can be accesed using ftp clients, and also from Opera browser with this info:

    ftp://site.com:21/ or ftp://server-ip:21/ - username bill@site.com or john@site.com and passwords.

But, this accounts can not be accessed using Internet Explorer, and my customer only uses IE :S, the error I recieve is something like this:

    Code:
    FTP Directory Error

Windows does not have access to that folder. Make sure the name of the directory was written ok and you have permission to access that directory.

    Details:
The connection with the server was reset
I already tried restarting pure-ftpd, flushing the firewall rules, and there problem stills..

    Any idea about this?

Im using RHES 4 + lastest kernel 2.6 and the latest release version.

    Thanks.

    cPanel/Enkompass Access Level

This has been discussed many times on the forums. Long story short, the user has to login using File -> Login As.

I'm having the same problem. Any time I try to access FTP by any method (browser, any ftp client) I get the error "Connection reset" Thanks for making a long story short -- but what do you mean? Where do I

"login using File -> Login As."

    ????

Please explain what tool is used, what window is accessed, and provide some context.

    Thank you.

ftp://username@domain.com this will provide the login popup.

Best method is using windows explorer with the same address.

Thanks for your response. I got it to work by switching from Pure-FTPd to ProTfpd in the FTP Configuration section of WHM. Just something I tried and once I did that, all the FTP accounts that had already been created, as well as the new one I'd tested with, all were able to log in, through any FTP client, as well as the method you suggested below.

    Question Correct

I'm having some troubles with this issue myself. Can you tell me if this is caused ONLY because of the annonimous login prohibition?

    thanks in advance
