Default Can't connect to cPanel via WHM

Yesterday we were having trouble adding email forwarders. We kept getting an error "virtual_aliases_nostar via virtual_aliases_nostar router forced address failure."

I updated the system and whm/cpanel and rebooted, hoping that solve the issue.
    cPanel 11.25.0-R46156 - WHM 11.25.0 - X 3.9
    CENTOS 5.5 i686 standard on wh1

Now when I go into WHM and click on a domain's cPanel icon, the browser stalls at https://servername:2087/xfercpanel/username for some period of time and then times out with https://servername:2083/login/?sessi...mdREn6D1FL3t5m in the URL window with a "The connection has timed out" message.

http://cpanel.domain.com works fine. I've spent a good 4 hours researching thus far and I'm not coming up with anything relevant. Has anyone run into this issue?

Is there any firewall on your system/server that might be blocking port 2083.

I didn't do any special configuration to the iptables...but checking /etc/sysconfig/iptables whm/cpanel added the following:
    # ALLOW CPANEL
    -A RH-Firewall-1-INPUT -m state --state NEW -m tcp -p tcp --dport 2087 -j ACCEPT --syn

    So I added:
    -A RH-Firewall-1-INPUT -m state --state NEW -m tcp -p tcp --dport 2083 -j ACCEPT --syn

Restarted iptables, now I can utilize the cPanel link through WHM again.

However, now I'm noticing (a customer actually) that http://www.domain.com/webmail or /cpanel are not redirecting. Again, it says connection timed out. http://webmail.domain.com and http://cpanel.domain.com DOES work.

Any other ports need to be in there? I added 2086 and 2082 just for kicks, no difference.

httpd.conf has the following aliases (defaults)

    ScriptAliasMatch ^/?cpanel/?$ /usr/local/cpanel/cgi-sys/redirect.cgi
    ScriptAliasMatch ^/?securecpanel/?$ /usr/local/cpanel/cgi-sys/sredirect.cgi
    ScriptAliasMatch ^/?kpanel/?$ /usr/local/cpanel/cgi-sys/redirect.cgi
    ScriptAliasMatch ^/?controlpanel/?$ /usr/local/cpanel/cgi-sys/redirect.cgi
    ScriptAliasMatch ^/?securecontrolpanel/?$ /usr/local/cpanel/cgi-sys/sredirect.cgi
    ScriptAliasMatch ^/?webmail/?$ /usr/local/cpanel/cgi-sys/wredirect.cgi
    ScriptAliasMatch ^/?whm/?$ /usr/local/cpanel/cgi-sys/whmredirect.cgi
    ScriptAliasMatch ^/?securewhm/?$ /usr/local/cpanel/cgi-sys/swhmredirect.cgi

    Alias /icons/ /usr/local/apache/icons/
    Alias /bandwidth /usr/local/bandmin/htdocs/
    Alias /sys_cpanel /usr/local/cpanel/sys_cpanel/
    Alias /java-sys /usr/local/cpanel/java-sys/
    Alias /img-sys /usr/local/cpanel/img-sys/
    Alias /akopia /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/interchange/share/akopia/
    Alias /mailman/archives /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/mailman/archives/public/
    Alias /pipermail /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/mailman/archives/public/
    Alias /interchange /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/interchange/share/interchange/
    Alias /interchange-5 /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/interchange/share/interchange-5/

    ScriptAlias /cgi-bin/ "/usr/local/apache/cgi-bin/"
    ScriptAlias /cgi-sys /usr/local/cpanel/cgi-sys/
    ScriptAlias /mailman /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/mailman/cgi-bin/

Thanks for the help. Not sure why an update would be changing iptable rules.

Problem solved, tcp 2095 was also being blocked... now redirects are working fine.

    Thanks for the assist.
