Post Can't create new accounts using web interface

    WHM 10.8.0 cPanel 10.9.0-R44
    RedHat Enterprise 3 i686 - WHM X v3.1.0

When using the web interface, I get an "Account creation complete" message and nothing else - no mention of restarting DNS, etc. I check, and the account was not in fact created. (Not in list accounts, no user dir in /home, no new DNS zone entries, etc.)

This started happening on 2 of my unrelated machines, so I imagine that it's a problem with the last nightly update?

    (other machine is
    WHM 10.8.0 cPanel 10.9.0-R9808
    CentOS 4.5 i686 - WHM X v3.1.0 )

Interestingly, running the /scripts/wwwacct script from a shell (date of Jun 8 01:58) works just fine.

    Any thoughts?

ok, so as i said above, checkperlmodules ran fine on one machine, and the problem still exists.

on the other, i upgraded cpanel to WHM 10.8.0 cPanel 10.9.0-R44 using the "upgrade now" link on the main whm page. (this new version has fancy checkmarks et al.) the good news: account creation now works. the bad news: i'm missing all kinds of perl modules now, eg Compress::Bzip2 , Net:AV::Server, XML::LibXML. (upgrade process kept spitting out emails, and the checkperlmodules script chokes.)

obviously this is an entirely different problem - i only bring it up b/c it's the reason that i'm hesitant to upgrade the other box. (which still has the "create new account" problem.)

this happens when you update perl.
I fixed the same problem by running /scripts/upcp and I updated to the latest cpanel 11 release.

    Bye

I'm having the same issue here. Does /scripts/upcp work for everyone?

    Update: Worked here...

    Question upcp works with problems

/scripts/upcp fix the "New Account" issue (and now the output report looks better) but...

I receive some errors (reported by email)
[checkperlmodules] The perl module Net:AV::Server could not be installed.

[checkperlmodules] The perl module XML::LibXML could not be installed.

[checkperlmodules] The perl module XML::LibXML::Common could not be installed.
After reading these reports seems like the problem now is related with libxml2 intallation issue.

"libxml2 not found Try setting LIBS and INC values on the command line Or get libxml2 from http://www.libxml.org/"

Edit: I run /usr/local/cpanel/bin/checkperlmodules and get no errors. At the moment all is right.

yesterday i solve this ACCOUNT CREATION and BACKUP issues running a /upcp

in fact as i did the upcp to stable version i realise that stable version has a bug in pure-ftp that needs to use username@domain.com to log in and not just username as usually was

so i would need to upcp to last build or switch to old pro-ftp in order to solve this issue : (

well my advice is to avoid stable at this time and do direct upcp in a build version
