Default Can't delete anonymous user FTP accounts

I searched the forum and Bug List, and do not find this issue.

Click delete for anonymous user FTP accounts using cPanel (x3), gives this message:

    Account Deletion
The anonymous user cannot be removed. If you wish to disable anonymous ftp access, please use the Anonymous Ftp Controls.

Next, click "Anonymous Ftp Controls" and get 404 Not Found:

    Not Found
The server was not able to find the document (./frontend/x3/ftp/anonmyous.html) you requested.
Please check the url and try again. You might also want to report this error to your webhost.

Anonymous Ftp is currently: disabled in WHM.
    Installed Ftp Server is pure-ftpd

How can I delete ftp accounts with user type = anonymous user?

    Thank you,
    Eric

I am unable to replicate this issue on cPanel 11.12.0-C17158. I'd recommend running /scripts/upcp --force

    Default manually edit/remove FTP accounts

    Thanks David,

How do I manually edit/remove FTP accounts?

    I'd recommend running /scripts/upcp --force
That will update my RELEASE version of cPanel to CURRENT version, right? Is that wise on a production server?

    Kind regards,
    Eric

It depends. The /scripts/upcp will upgrade your build to the latest edition of the build you select to upgrade to in WHM -> Server Configuration -> Update Config. By default, it is set to RELEASE. So by running this, you will be brought to 11.11.0-RELEASE_16983.

The --force forces a reinstall even if the system is update to date. This can be useful in cases where files are inexplicably missing (such as your situation). This forces every file in cPanel/WHM to be downloaded and installed rather than just the files that have been updated.

I have WHM 11.2.0 cPanel 11.6.0-R15076, and willl run /scripts/upcp --force tonight.

Can I manually delete ftp accounts with user type = anonymous user?

    Thanks again,
    Eric

UPDATE 10-19-2007: Here is the answer.

You can manually edit the /etc/ftpquota file to remove 'anonymous user' FTP accounts.

First, go to cPanel's FTP Accounts page and look under Type for the blue 'anonymous user' icons. If you can't delete these FTP accounts using the Delete icon, then go to cPanel's File Manager and locate /etc/ftpquota. Select and edit the ftpquota file, then delete the ftp accounts that display 'anonymous user' in cPanel's FTP Accounts page. Save, that's it, the 'anonymous user' FTP accounts are gone!

    Regards,
    Eric

I am having the exact same issue as described in the first post of this thread, and I am using WHM 11.11.0 cPanel 11.15.0-R18033, so updating isn't the solution. I also do not have an /etc/ftpquota file, so I can't manually edit. Anyone have any other ideas? I just want to enable anonymous FTP for one customer, but as soon as I enabled it through WHM->Service Configuration->FTP Configuration, it added it to every site on the server. Please help!

    Thanks,
    tywe

Bump, no one knows how to add anonymous FTP to a single account without adding it to every account on the server?
