Default Can't send/receive any email from server

    Hi all,

    This is strange.
I had tried to rebuild exim and my client still can't send or receive any email from the server.

    Any one have similar problem?

this is a repeated case. Initially, i hire someone to fix it. However, the problem came back again.
I was told rebuild exim will fix the problem. Isn't this the most easiest way to get exim problem fix?

    Additional info.
    mail log:

2004-11-26 17:42:37 unexpected disconnection while reading SMTP command from (lotus.cs.berkeley.edu) [221.142.70.203]

that is it; your /etc/localdomains file has been deleted somehow. You will have to create this file again with all the domain name entries in it.

    i tried pico /etc/localdomains

It got my server domains in there.

It doesn't seem to be deleted.

stop the bind process; kill all instances of the same.

    stop exim; start exim.

    start bind.
