Default Centos 4 64 bit version and Cpanel

    Hi!

Looks like 64 bits OS is getting pretty meture now - I am wondering if I shuld put a 64 bit server - looks like AMD 64x2 is gettoing pretty ok as far as price goes, and it have a low power consumption as well. I think it could be a killer

Anyone running Cpanel on 64 Centos 4.1 ? Is it good now?

    Thumbs up

Ive been running a Dual 64 bit Xeon machine for awhile with cPanel. They run much smoother than 32 bit machines once you solve all the bugs. Many programs look in the lib directory instead of the lib64 dir so have fun linking all the missing files into the lib directory. Also tomcat doesnt compile correctly so you need to build a certain file on a 32 bit machine and then copy it over. However, once you work out all of the compiling and various bugs, I believe it is worth it.
