I prefer 32-bit operating systems with cPanel. In my experience with using 64-bit OSes with cPanel there have been a lot of library dependency issues with using 64-bit versions of certain libraries or finding 64-bit versions of certain libraries. These issues may have been corrected, and probably sooner or later they will all be corrected as more and more people move to a 64-bit architecture. Admittedly it has probably been a couple of years since I last dealt with 64-bit OSes, so a lot may have changed. Just my experience tells me to stay with the tried and true OS and the OS that I am most familiar with and that is a 32-bit operating system.
However, with that being said, if you are going to be using 8GB of RAM, I believe you have to use a 64-bit operating system. Someone can correct me if I am wrong, but I thought 32-bit operating systems only recognized or used 4GB of RAM.
